Welcome to the official Get Involved website!

Get Involved the manual is a comprehensive analysis of the jurisdiction of each committee and subcommittee within the 108th Congress to help start a letter writing campaign.

With this manual, citizens young and old can learn different techniques to effectively have their voice heard by the many elected officials making decisions in the United States.  Get Involved explains each committee and subcommittee in easy to understand language and gives detailed committee membership to make finding a topic, writing a letter and sending it to the proper elected officials easy.

Just imagine the power and influence the citizens of this country could possess if we took the time to write to elected officials detailing our concerns and views more often.  No longer would we have a sense of disenfranchisement, but a growing sensation that this is truly was our country and that together we can take control of our nation's destiny.  Get Involved is the first step to realizing those dreams.  With this manual, anybody can become politically influential.  Our elected officials work for us and they want and need to hear what we think!

Representative Fred Upton (6th-MI):
"I am a strong supporter of constituent feedback.  In order for me to me conduct my responsibilities as a Representative, I rely heavily on the thoughts and concerns of the folks of southwest Michigan.  I personally read and sign all incoming constituent mail, and lok at this process as a great opportunity to hear concerns and keep constituents updated on all that is happening in Congress...I for one, have long come to the conclusion that having a positive and open means of correspondence between elected official and constituent, is vital for successful results."

Senator John Breaux (LA):
"I have always felt that I can best help the people of Louisiana when I am aware of their opinions regarding current issues.  For this reason, I value any input I receive from my constituents.  I encourage all citizens to take the time to contact their elected officials to keep them informed of their values, needs, and concerns."

These are just two opinions on the great power that citizens have when they contact elected officials.  Our democracy depends on the involvement of ordinary citizens and whether your democrat, republican or "other", elected officials need to hear our views and concerns.
